THE BUTTER BILL.
PASSES HOUSE OF COMMONS. MILK-BLENDED REGULATION'S. Received 28th, i.22 p.m. London, July 27. The Butter Bill was read a third time in the House of Commons, after Sir F. W. Lowe's amendment, to limit the moisture in milk-blended to 18 per cent., had been defeated by 133 to 22. Several other amendments were also negatived. The Right Hon. John Burns promised that the Government would insert a clause of eight words, providing that wrappers for milk-blended butter shall set out the percentage of moisture therein.
