INCENDIARY EXTRAORDINARY.
LUNATIC AMOK AMONGST GRAIN STACKS. BURNS 15 STACKS WORTH £4OO. Per Press Association. Gore, Midnight. A rather extraordinary occurrence is reported from Riversdale. This morning a number of ilres were observed over the plain, and a settler, making investigation, saw a man deliberately setting fire to several straw stacks. The settler [Obtained assistance, but in the meanlime the man had reached the next farm and set fire.to tlirce oat sheaf stacks, also several straw Btacks. Two of the victims met and secured him. In all he burned 15 stacks, valued at over £4OO. The man was brought to Gore to-night for medical examination, seemingly be-
ing a lunatic. He arrived in the district several days ago. He is about 50 years of age, and gives his name as George Murray, and state that) he has a wife land three children at Dunedin.
