The lion. 0. Samuel, M.L.C., accompanied by Airs Sumuei, arrived in iSew i'lymoutli from Wellington last evening, and is staying at the Criterion Hotel. A late cable from .Melbourne announces the death of the Row Mr Watslord, the ilrand Old Man of Australian Methodists, at the age of 97 years. At the meeting of the St. Mary's Church vestry on Monday last Mr A. Miller Potts was, by the unanimous vote of the vestry, appointed organist and choirmaster of the ehureh in the place of Mr A. E. Fletcher, who has resigned owing to ill-healtli. Mr Fletcher's resignation was accepted with the sympathy of the vestry. * J
