CONCILIATION BOARD.
Per Presß Association. ■Wellington, July 24. To-day the Conciliation Board com- . i menced the hearing of the dispute filed by tlie Wellington Operative Bakers' Union. The Employers' Union intimated . through one of its representatives that it objected to the presence of Mr Andrew Collins on the Board, as he was secretary and a member of the Workers' Union. The employers also objected to < the outrageous demands filed. If the demands were granted half the bakehouses ' I in Wellington would, it was stated, hav* lo close. No matter what the Board de- ' cided it was the intention of the -emplovers not to take any notice of tfie Board.but in fight thn mpftT nut a m' the Arbitration Court. The chairman, Mr P. J. OTtegan,' warmly protested against this decision of the employers and condemned the unfairness of the remarks made. j Eventually the employers' represent*- ! tivea withdrew.
