OWNEIiS AXD AREA. » IMPORTANT PARTICULARS. Some interesting statistics relating to the value aud area of freehold land in the colony were laid 011 the table of the House by the .Minister for Lands lust Friday. The returns show that last year there were 128,010 freehold owners with land of a total unimproved value of £IOO,232,247. The latest return (that for last year) shows 370 owners possessing land of M unimproved value between £211,000 and £50,000 and 85 owners whose holdings range in value from £50,000 to £IOO,000; 22 owners ranging train £IOO,OOO to £200,000, while there are four owners whose estates are valued at £200,000 and over, the total value of these four estates being CI,010,02!). Another table dealing with country lands only (that is, those exclusive of land iu boroughs and townships) shows that the most numerous class of freeholders in the colony are those possessing between 100 and 200 acre each. They number 8740, their total area being 1,210,010 acres of a total unimproved value of £0,703,128.
