DAIRY I'IKUH LI- REPORT. Messrs E. Grilliths anil Co., dairy produce exporters, New Plymouth, are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, .Mills and Sparrow, dated 7th .lime, 11)07: Uiitter.—There has been a continuance of dull showery weathei*. and the conntry generally is looking well, lmt warm nights and a few weeks sunshine arc badly needed, otherwise the pastures will Miller.
Danish: There is a brisk demand for all choicest dairies, and the tinners have conienced operations. Tt wou'd not at all surprise us if an advance of our or two shillings takes place, lis the competition for a week or two between the 'Tinners' and Shippers will be keen. French: The quantity coining into the markets is not as large as was anticipated, low qualities being particularly scarce I'or this season of the year. The Home Irailc is also exceptionally good. Siberian: No change (o report. Choicest is selling and wauled, but there is no improvement on Secondary grades, which are still somewhat dillieult to clear uli i'.'S at very low li^ures. Australian and N'ew Zealand: There is 'practically no choicest oU'eriug. and agents rather than accept the ''speculative'' oilers v.hirh are being made for secondary, are putting the butters into store, ns there is not only the possibility of much better prices being obtained 'ater on in the season. At the present moment buyers arc giving nil (heir attention to the fresh Home, Irish, and Continental makes, which have to be cleared promptly. Cheese.—Canadian prices for new have been reduced, but fancy old autumn make will still realise good prices. The same applies to New Zealand, which lias been in such good demand, and has been pleasing alt who have put it oil the counter. New Zealand cheese has become deservedly popular, and the factorymen are deserving of great praise for the way they are now turning out this product. (lateral style, make and handling, is greatly improved, the appearance lieing attractive and the packing is near perfect as is possible. Quotations.
