HARBOR BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Harbor Board "was held on Friday. All the members were present: Messrs .1. B, Conuett (chairman), Newton King, Oeo. McLean, Jas. Thomson, R. Price, .1. Ward, D. .1. Hughes, J. Dine, junr., and E. Maxwell. MOLKSWORTU STREET EXTENSION. The Borough Council lisked the Board to dedicate a strip of land eight feet wide necessary to make Moleswortli street the full (i(i feet wide from Kawau itreet to the Huatoki stream.
Messrs fiovett and Quiiliam, the Board's solicitors, forwarded a resolution "That in order to facilitate the completion of a new street connecting St. Aubyn street and Moleswortli street and on thnt condition and for that purpose only this Board undertakes when required to dedicate for the purpose of such road a strip of land eight feet wide on the northern boundary of the Kawau Reserve, and so much of the corner of subal'.otment numbered 1 of the same reserve as is required lo make the new street KG feet wide." This was carried.
It was pointed out that the Hoard 1 wished to commit itself to an undertaking to give the land required, hut not to be bound unless the street was actually completed, and on tlie soli eitors' suggestion it was added that the resolution should continue in force for. saw one year.
THE PROPOSED LOAX. The secretary read Mr Newton King's letter withdrawing his notice of motion in the direction of raisin" a loan of j tsoo.noti. .Mr King explained that when tabling the motion lie had not been aware of the alterations in the Standing Orders, and this threw him out of his calculations. Some delay had occurrcd-in gettin),' that information definitely but as soon as he had received word from the I authorities in Wellington he liad com immic.ited with (hose members, Messrs Maxwell and McLean, who bad called mcrtiugs of ratepayers, so as to inconvenience them as little as possible.
a , 'nil''. KATE. The chairman gave milieu to move at next meeting to strike a general rate of a farthing, the same ns last year. The Borough Counr.il asked the Board to hear the cost of placing a pipe across the footpath to carry the Htorm water from their .property in Kgmont street, where damaged by scour. The Marine Department notified the re-appointment of Messrs Hughes, Price and Ward as members of the Board, Government nominees.
Accounts amounting to £1262 la 8d were passed for payment.
