Fergus moved that the Otago Harbor '■> Hoard approach Parliament with a view ' J/. to got an Enabling Bill authorising the .■& Hoard to borrow, when necessary, any 1 sum not exceeding £100,000.. for the> •,", purpose of carrying out works for the .<% permanent improvement of the harbor.in speaking to the motion, Mr Fergus said the dredge, though good, in her day, was now unlit to cope with the work. They were aiso behind in appliances for working cargo in order to allow , the "•■: largest vessels afloat to pass to Port -' ■ Chalmers and Hunedln.
