TRAMWAY WITHOUT RAILS.
A Swiss company lias been formed to construct a tram service without rails between Basic and Huningue, a town on the Swiss-German frontier. The motive force will be electricity, supplied by aerial wires. An ingenious device allows the cars to be guided lift Cin on each side of the aerial wires without cutting off the current, so that two ears passing in opposite directions may pass at full speed. Tlie cost of the scheme is stated to be at) per cent less than if ordinary tramway line with rails were constructed.
