CAIiIiIAGES HUKEED DOWN A STEEP EMBANKMENT. Lisbon, May 26. ' Eight persons were killed ami twentytwo were seriously injured in n terrible railway accident caused by the derailment of an express between Algarve and Lisbon to-day. The train, which was composed of thirty-five carriages, was descending a steep decline at the rate of between fifty and sixty miles an hour, when it ran off the rails. The carriages were hurled down a steep embankment, and lay in splintered heaps at the bottom. There were many women passengers in lire train who were imprisoned in the wreckage, and had to remain a long time before help arrived.
