N.Z. AXEMENT'S ASSOCIATION.
Per Press Association. Kith mi, July 16. The annual meeting of tlie New Zealand ANcm-'ifs Association was held last night. The .Mayor (Mr (.;. \\: Taylor) presided. The annual report, which w ;s adopted, -howcd that daring the year there had been a larg. increase in'the number of axemen registered and chits aflili-.ted with the association.' Five hundred ami ihirty-fmir axemen had been licensed, as against 307 last year, an increase of. -HI. The number of affiliated clubs had increased from 26 to 51. The year's operations resulted in a credit balance of Lo4 5s 4d. The assets of the association now amount (o «23S 0s Hid, of which t'2l2 15s 10d is in hard cash. The fiovernor wis elected patron,and the following directors: Messrs Hayler, Hansen, Cattanach, Carman, Carter," w' W. Stanners, T. V. Stanners. Mr P.' Amoore was elected a life member.
