THE NEW ZEALAND TEAMCOMMENT OX SATURDAY'S GAME. Sdney, July 13. The Sydney Morning Herald, referring to Saturday's match, says:—'The Xew South Wales team fought magnificently, taking honors in the first half in bcoring a brilliant try. 'The weight of the opposing team, however, broke its defence to pieces, and, concentrating its splendid manhood, it pushed the play three times across the uw champions' goal line, and thus amply avenged the New South Wales score in the first half. - ' The Herald considers that the New i Zealanders played below their reputaI tion in the first half. This may have been dne to the pace of the home team or lack of vim on the part of the visitors. ' ■ '-"-r

The Daily Telegraph Bays:—"Without detracting from the merit of the splendid all-round performance of the Xew South Welshmen, it cannot be claimed, on their form on Saturday, that the Xew Zealand team is equal to

some of its predecessors. It may be that there is too much All-Bl.ick in it—(he ghosts of former giants—or that they are clearly below their form; but it is certain that for the greater part of the game there was no fire in them. If Saturday's display is their best, then the Xew Zealanders will find themselvss %hting for their lives for the remainder of fljeir tour. It was their stamina .alMive all that pulled them through."
