PERSONAL.
(Iu Thursday afternoon .Mr .I.W. Guel'in was presented with a combined purse and card-case by the members of the A'itzroy Croquet Cluij. -Mrs Guerin has been a most enthusiastic member of the club and her departure from New Plymouth is greatly regretted. Un Friday .Mr Gueriu was the recipient of a handsome pair of bowis (silver-moun-ted), and a bowl-bag from the Fitzroy Bowling Club. The president (Jlr Dempsey) made eulogistic reference to Mr Guvrin's popularity among his fellow members 'and to his enthusiasm as I a bowler, and while regretting the. loss to Filzruy, expressed pleasure at ilte fact that a .L'aranaki boy had been promoted to a responsible position on the stall' of the Evening Post. Mr S. Hill also bore testimony to -Mr Guerin'sgond qualities, and, at his request, the guest's health was drunk with musical honors. Jlr (iuerin returned thanks in a few well-chosen remarks, and expressed his regret at leaving the club, where he had spent very pleasant times. Both Mr and ill's Gucriii will be greatly missei, and will carry away with them the good wishes of the club for their future welfare.
