THE CRAFTY MAN CAUGHT. ■ Received 12th, 11.40 p.m. Sydney, July 12. James thompson (sic), a carcase butcher, the Chinaman who was referred to In Parliament in respect to allegations respecting bad meat, was lined £lO for disposing of the carcase of a cow in a shocking state of tuberculosis to a firm who displayed it for sale in Sydney. Dafedant pleaded that "the cow belonged to his son, who was not aware It wm diseased. The animal was killed, and set to the distribution stores. When he (defendant) heard what had been done he used every endeavor to get the animal back.
