A reminder is given of the unreserved sale of thoroughbred horses to be held by Mr Newton King at New Plymouth on Saturday next on account of Mr M. Mills. The lot includes that good performer Southern Cross, in active training, and nominated for the Wellington and Grand National Hurdles. Particulars are advertised in another column.

Anyone wishing to purchase a good dairy farm on easy terms should make immediate application to Mr Newton King for one pf the Crown dairy farms, which arc being sold owing to the death of Mr J. C. I Three shifts in three* years, and each time into larger and more commodious premises, is the record of Mr R. Deare. The 'lSoot Arcade," which has been brought so prominently before the public by "Deare, the Stioeman," will in future be found in Devon street at the railway crossing. It is a fine roomy shop, probably the largest boot and shoe store in the province. The main shop is a commodious one, with fittings to carry a very heavy stock. This Mr. Deare Intends to do, so that there will I be no need for anyone to go beyond New Plymouth in search of any conceivable kind of footwear. There is a bright and spacious ladies' fitting room, and Mr. Deare has a snug office for his own private use. When he opened business here it was with, a staff of. one other than < himself. Now, with the repairing de- ] partiueut on the premises, six are employed. This is a fair indication of the popularity of the firm.
