MRS HOWARD GOULD TO APPLY FOR A SEPARATION. New York, May 14. Mrs Howard Gould has determined to seek a legal separation from her bus band, who is the son of the late Jay Gould. According to the Herald, Mr and Mis Gould have been living apart for nearly a year. Mr Gould is living at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, and his wife at the SI. Regis. Each as admitted employing detectives to watch the other for several months. The marriage of Mr and Mrs Howard Gould on October 12, 18118, was regarded as a real romance of the stage. Mrs Could was formerly Miss Viola Katherine Clemmons, an actress, who first play ■ in F. gland eighteen years ag.-i under tiie raise of Viola Clemmons. Mr Gould is a multi-millionaire and a director in many railway and financial corporations. He is fond of yachting, and some years ago won Lord Duuraven's challenge cup with the yaet Niagara.
