Per Press Association. Wellington, July 4. J'hc quantity of gold exported from New Zealand during tne past half-year was 22(1,475 ounces, valued at £004,948, a decrease of 38,048 ounces of the value of XJ1G.1,488 compared with the corresponding period last year. The export of p;o)d last month was 20,702 ounces, valued at £104,45!), against 48,640" ounces, valued at £195,656, in June last year. The quantity of silver sent out of the colony last month was 01,231 ounces, of the value of £0342,
Property to the value of some £IO,OOO was involved in a case in which the Aative Appellate Court gave judgment to-day. It concerned the will of Wi Matua, of Hawke's Bay, made in 1003. hi addition to devises to testator's wife, and other persons, a devise was made of testator's interest in land comprised hi the Whawakanga blocks to Oharlcs William Reardon. The devise was .subject to the provision that within twelve months ot the granting of probate of the will Mr Reardon should pay all the testator's debts. The first application for probate was heard by Judge Butler, but he died without giving a decision. On a re-hearing before Judge Palmer probate was refused, on the ground that the circumstances attendant upon fhe execution of the will were such as to cast upon it the suspicion that it was not the last will of a free and capable testator. The Appellate Court to-day upheld the judgment of the Native Land Court and • dismissed the appeal,
