To the Editor. Sir, —I noticed iu Wednesday's paper Jiat at ii meeting of the Liberal and inbor Federation a resolution of thanks .vas carried to Sir J. Ward for tlie excelent work lie had acliieved at the recent Colonial Conference in London. Will fou, Mr Editor, or the secretary of the Federation tell your readers what this ?xcel)ent work is? From reports in the paper*, he scorns to have closely allied luniriclf with the Tory policy of preference and protection, which Lord Beaconslield said years ago was not only dead hut damned.—l am, etc., LIBERAL.
