The robber secured £3 129, a watch, and It bicycle, utilising the latter in escaping. NEW SOUTH WALES POLITICS. Sydney, July 2. In the Assembly, Mr McGowan criticised the immigration policy of the Government. He said he knew cases of men who had lost their places because immigrants had offered to work for less .wages. Mr Oarruthers (Premier), reviewing the financial position of the State, said it had started the financial year with a cash credit (including public works and fcloser settlement funds) of £1,90:2,000. This could be operated without touching the trust fund, which, together with the surplus, amounted to five millions. He considered the position justified him In remitting taxation.
