In the Assembly, Mr McGowan criticised the immigration policy of the Government. He said he knew cases of men who had lost their places because immigrants had offered to work for less .wages. Mr Oarruthers (Premier), reviewing the financial position of the State, said it had started the financial year with a cash credit (including public works and fcloser settlement funds) of £1,90:2,000.
