A SWINDLE EXPOSED
LEADER MASQUERADING AS HIS HOP COWIE'S DAUGHTER. London, July 1. The Daily Express reveals an alleged kwlndle conducted by Airs Elizabeth Horne—who represented herself as a daughter of the late Bishop Cowie, of Auckland—Mrs Catherine Christie (aged 80), and a negro, who formed a syndicate and worked London and Paris for yean, with the object of developing 52,000 square miles of Madagascar and securing timber, gold, precious stones, and turns.
