The steam collier owners' and stevedores* delegates agreed to raise no oojection to free laborers joining, md the foremen lieing members of ..he Union. Discussing the rates of pay the I'nion delegates suggested letting the Arbitration award go, and fixing up an agreement independent of it. The employers' representative* claimed that the rates demanded were eqiui .to a 40 per cent, increase on present rates, and asked for time to consult other members of the Association. The Conference adjourned until romorrow.
