The following dates have been fixed for the interprovincial footliaU' majiches here:—August 24, Canterbury; August 31, Auckland; September 21, Wellington. The match with Southland w,ill probably lie played on September 14th, while Otago will play Invereargill on either August 28th or September Ith. Wairarapa will be offered eith"r September 7th or September 2Stu- If the dates are not suitable to the Wairarapa team, the match will'probably not !e played.
For the Southern division matches Waimatc and Hawera seniors tied, with 3 points each; Opunaie defeated Kapouga by 11 to 8. In,the junior competition, Hawera juniois defeated Waimate by 6 to 3, and the Hawera second juniors Iwat Waimatc t>y 3 to 0. The Christchurch senior football mutches resulted as follows:—Sydenham beat Christchurch by 6 to a, Old Boys la-.vt. Linwood by 10 to 3, Mcrivale bent Canterbury College by 14 to 0. In the Dunedin semor Rugby matches Tnivcrsity beat Southern by 10 to 7, Pirates beat Dunedin by li to 3, Union beat Kaikorai by 3 to 3. Port Chalmers drew with Alhambra (Geacb), Zingari bent Taieri by a to nil. The Wellington senior matches resulted:—Petone 5, Athletic 5; Poneke 0, St- James 5; ilelr»6c 34, Old Bovs 0; Oriental 3>, Vietorh College 10. Opunakc 1. obtained their second .vi this season (writes (tar Opunafce correspondent) by again defeating Ka-j ponga 1., this time at Ka|>onga, by 11 points to G. The Opunakc team wis very weak, and the win came as a <iurprise. The Home Union matches were continued on Wednesday, when l'ihania defeated Opunake Stars by 14 to ni . All the scoring was dot)': in the s'Coud spell. Tries were obtained by Graham, Matahere. Horgan, and Paddy, one of which Aiken converted.
