HOCKEY.

( On the 29th lust., the Egmont Hockey Club met the Carrington road team on the racecourse. In the first spell Carrington road put in throe goals in quick succession, but Egmont rallied, and from then Carrington road never looked dangerous, Dining the whole of the second spell, the black and whites'(Egmont) had their opponents penned behind their own 25 line. The faulty shooting of Egmont lost them the match, which, on the day's playing, they shou.d have won with a margin. From a melee in front of the posts Egmont [ shot a goal, and at call of time still had their opponents pressed arouut the goal. The game, ended: Carrington road 3; Egmont 1. The latter team, being a young club, arc naturally lacking m the combination of their older opponents, but should be able to put in a good team for the cup fixtures next season.
