SCHOOL CHILDREN TO SALUTE IT ONCE A WEEK. ' At a meeting of the Strand Boaid of Guardians, Mr Alfred Burden, a member, moved the appended resolution: — "That the Union Jack of Old England be lKiisted on the flagstaff at the Strand Union Schools every morning a. quarter of an hour before school time, and kept up until s'nset, and that every Friday morning the boys and girls be assembled and snlutp it. the band being present to play the National Anthem, and the some ceremony to take place on Empire Day, the King's birthday, and Coronation Day. In <a« of stroas of weather a smaller Rag to be displayed in the school rooms and saluted."
He thought tho children should he taught loyalty to their flag and King. The resolution was carried.
