EARTHQUAKE AT THE ISLANDS.
Per Press Association. Auckland, June 20. The Tonga correspondent of the Herald says the residents of Nukualofa were startled from their slumber about 1.15 a.m. on June 1 by the most severe shock of earthquake since April, 1807. The whole of the island has dropped a foot or two, and settled on a hard foundation.
