Inspector Culleii Has received u telegram from Constable .McCarthy at Kawhia, who estimated that eight persons were drowned in the wreck of the Kin Ora. Wo far no bodies have been recovered. It has been decided to hold nil inquiry into tin' wreck of the Kia Ora in Auckland. it was thought at first it would be held in New Plymouth, but as most, of the witnesses are here il has been decided In hold il here. The date has not yet been fixed.
Mr. Kongo Ross, one of the victims of tiie Kia Ora disaster, was a brother of Mr. Donald Ross, of Opunake, and was 2(1 years of age. Tie was on his way from the South Island tu join his brother on a section at the buck of Jinwhia. When the news of (lie wreck became known Mr. I). Ross did not know at that time that his brother had left the South. It wns only by communicating with his other brothers that' he heard the sad news that his brother Rongo was lost.
