The former attended the Board, and admitted he had not fulfilled the residential conditions, having been compelled b.v rheumatism to leave the land. He had not been aware that the Board should have been advised of this, as his sons liad lived on the land and farmed it all the time.—Deferred pending the report of the ranger. A. A. Nelson applied to transfer to T. 11. L. and W. 11. liust, sec. 20, block 10, Huiroa. C'landon Settlement (Lands for Settlement Act).—The transfer will be recommended to the Minister for Lands. OVEIiDUE KENT. Mr. Kerr, Crown Solicitor, waited on the Board with an explanation from the court baliif at Stratford regarding the non-issue of distress lor rent upon Thomas llastie and J. E. liastie, against, whom jfidgment had been obtained sumo* month* ago. —Resolved that the usual notiiu be given to the Advances to Settlers Office Superintendent as mortgagee of the intention of the Board to forfeit the interests of the persons named.
0. W..Oovett, as mortgagee of the interest of A. Donibusch in aw. 73, block 10, Pouatu, forfeited at last meeting, applied for extension of time in which to realise.—Forfeiture rescinded, upon tin; understanding Unit immediate steps will be taken by the mortgagee under see. 83 of the Land Act, 1802.
GENERAL. K, W. Adams (see, 2, boek 14, Aria) and "Winks and Tucker (see.. 7, block 0, Opaku) applied, under the Bush and Swamp Act for further exemption from rent.—Uesolvcd that the rent due by the incoming be conceded for the balance of the term originally granted. iC. Tolme. (.'rown Lands Ranger, reported on sections *2(l, block 13, 21 and 22. block 14, Ohura, sections 2, 5, 0, and 7, block 2, Ueao.—lt was decided to withdraw the sections from the Improved Farm Settlement eouditions, with a view to rc-ollering iu larger areas. The Board 'was not disposed to consider the application of W. 11. Fitzpatrick for a reduction of rent on sec. 104, block 4, Paritntn. A. D. Mcßower wrote that he could find a building site on sec. 21, block 9. Mimi, and therefore need not purchase see. 23.—Hanger will report. The Wairoa Bond Board applied for the bush on sec. 11, block 12, Opaku, to be felled, so that it might be used for the purpose I'or'which it was reserved —a resting-place fur travelling stock. The Hoard had no funds.
The necessary steps wilt be taken to comply wiib the request, of the New Plymouth Harbor Board under see. 124 of tlie Land Act. 18!)2, for the recovery of overdue rates on Sec. 23, block 4, Huiroa. held by A. A. Aiken, and sec. 17, block 1"), Pouatu, formerly held by John Burgess. \V. F. Ludlow's application for leave to sub-let see. 8, block T>. Kaupokonui, to \Y. Purdon. was deferred.
