At an iii<juo-t touching the death of i the prisoner Charles Hamilton Moil', drowned in the Awatere Kivcr on Saturday. it wan shown that four prisoners were aamsing themselves by floating on a log in the stream. The log lurched, [lulling deceased into the water. . The other prisoners tried but failed to rescue lloir. The medical evidence showed that he was weak of heart. A verdict of accidental drowning was returned. The jury commended his comrades for their attempts at rescue.
