MANAWATU WINTER SHOW.

OPENS TO-DAY. Per Press Association. Palmerstou N., June 17. The National Dairy Show of the Manawatu A. and P. Association opens at noon to-morrow and promises to eclipse the records of the past years. AH departments are tilled, particular attention having been given by exhibitors to the dairy factory butler and ciieese classes. The school garden division will be a notable feature, specially large entries having come forward. Horticultural, farm roots, fruit, and vegetable classes all attracted good entries. As usual, the display of dairy machinery appliances in motion will be on an extensive scale, the whole of one large Lall being occupied thereby. It includes the milking machine plants in full operation. In conjunction with the show the annual Dairymen's Convention will be held to-morrow morning, and at ten o'clock the annual meeting of the National Dairy Association (North Island) begins. In the evening Uiu annual meeting oi the New Zealand Factory Butter and Cheescniakers' Association will take place, followed by the reading of a prize essay on "Uuttcr-niaking iu New Zealand." Wednesday will be occupied by the reading of a number of papers of interest to dairymen, while at noon on the same day the I'.nn. It. BUTTER AND CHEESE AWARDS. Pahnerston, N., Juno 17. The following are the butter and cheese awards at the Manawatu Show, as far as available last night:— Factory butter, two boxes for export: Hewn, 04 points, 1; Warea, 03y» points, 2. The following tied: Bunny, Clen Oroua, Tlmvke's Bay. Mahahu Mills, Rata, Rangiwliaia, Waitura, with A3 points each. Factory butter from bulk: Rnngitikei, 04 point's. Is Waitara, 03% points, 2; Midhirst, 03 points, 3. The winner gets a gold medal and a challenge cup valued at 25 guineas.
