N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. Per Press Association. Auckland, June 12. Horses—Heavy draughts,.at from £2B 10s to £39, medium do. £l9 15s to £29 10s, hacks and light harness horses- £G 10s to £2O os. At l'apakura dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £7 15s, dairy heifers £3 15s to CG as, empty cows £1 17s to £3 Is, i to 3-year-old steers £2 2s Gd to £4 10s. There were no grown steers yarded. Calves made 15s to £1 Us. Beef sold well at fully Newmarket rates.

At Newmarket yards dairy cows sold at from £4 to £8 2s Gd, empty _ do. £1 13s to £3 Gs calves 15s to El Bs. Beef was yarded in full quantities and consisted mostly of light weights and cows. Oxen sold to 22s per 1001b, cow 17s to £1 per 1001b. Steers sold at from £G 15s to £lO 17s fid cows £3 5s '0 £6 15s. Far extra well-fatted cattle prices improved. Other sorts were at last week's rates.

Sheep—At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday sheep were yarded in full quantities and sold at late improved rates, Wethers sold from 18s Gd to £1 3s Od. ewes 10s 6d to £1 Is 3d, hoggets lis 6d to 17s Gd.

Pigs—Porkers sold at from £1 7s to £1 17s weaners 5s Gd to 10s, baconers £2 2s to £2 19s.

Best mixed lip to 28s 3d; good, 25s to 265; inferior, 22s to 23s Gd; rough fat, 1%<3 per lb.

BITONSIDE MARKET. Per Press Association. Dnnedin, June 12. At Burnside to-day about 1800 sheep were penned. There was a medium yarding of fair-quality sheep, with a few pens of extra good sorts. The sale opened at about last week's rates, but hardened slightly as it proceeded, showing an advance of Is to Is fid. Towards the finish, however, the sale slacked off again. Quotations—Best wethers 20s fid to 25s fid. extra to 27s fid. medium 18s to 21s, light 10s to 19s fid, extra heavy ewes to 225. good 17s fid to 20s, medium 15s to 17s.

Lambs—About 1500 penned. The yarding was smaller than last week, and the quality also was not so good. In eonserpience the demand was much less keen, prices being easier by about Is per head. Quotations—Best lambs 17s fid to 19s, extra to 21s, medium lis to 14s. inferior Os to 10s 6d.

Cattle—23s yarded:'" fhere was a fair yarding, and prices at the beginning of the sale were much easier than the closing rates of last week, showing a decline of 5s to 6s per head. Quotations —Best cattle £lO 10s to £ll 10s. medium to good £9 to £!) Ms. light £6 10s to £B. best heifers £fi 10s to £7 10s.

Pigs—The entry of fat pigs was a failone, there being only n few pens of stores and suckers. All sorts in this line brought good prices, baconcrs showing a slight advance. Quotations—Suckers 9s to lis, slips 14s to 17s, stores IBs to 225, light porkers 30s to 37s fid, heavy to 455, baconers 45s to 555, heavy baconera up to 655.

CHRI.STCHC/iCH STOCK MARKET. Per Press Association. Christelnu'ch, June 12. At the Aldington live stock market today there was a large entry of fat sheep and lambs and fat cattle, and a moderate yarding of other classes of stock. There was a good attendance. Fat cuttle sold at last week's rates; prime fat lambs were firmer, and \riyn of all classes showed -an advance. There was an improved demand for the few forward store sheep on offer, and prime fat sheep sold well. Store cattle were almost unsaleable, but good dairy cows were in better request. The entry of store sheep consisted of a few lines of wethers and lambs, and small lots of aged ewes. Forward wethers and lambs improved to the extent of about Is per head, and other classes were unchanged. The principal lots sold were—2lG 2 r.nd 4 tooth wethers ICs 4d to 10s sd; 170 at 14s od; 53 2-tooths 12s fld, 100 lambs 9s lid, 33 at 9s TIT, 140 at 9s Id, sound ewes 10s 6d to lis lid, aged 5s 9d to 6s lid.

The entry of fat lambs was not so ! large as tlie previous week, a number of lines being of prime quality, but the majority were not *e!l finished. Tegs 18s Od to 24s 9d, standard weights 14s to 18s, lighter lis to 13s 6d. There was a fairly large entry of fnt sheep, including some prime lines of both ewes and wethers. The sale opened well, prime sheep being well competed for. and maintained their values throughout. but towards the close medium and inferior ewes were easier. The range of prices was—Extra prime wethers 32s to 40s, prime 20s to 25s 3d, lighter IBs lOd to 19s 6d, prime ewes 19s to 23s 9d, medium 15s to 18s ('id, aged lis to lis Bd, merino wethers 12s 8d to 13s lid, extra good 18s 3d to IDs Cd.

The entry of fat cattle totalled 27(1 head, the bulk being light and not well finished lots. The sale was about equal to that of the previous week, prime steer beef making 2.3s to 255. and medium 20s to 22s fid per'JOOlbs. A line of 21 steers from E. D. fiilcs (Mount Parnasus) topped the market at £9 15s to £ll 17s fid: other steers brought Cfi 10s to £ll, heifers £4 12s fid to £7. cows £4 12s fid to £7 12s (Id.

A pood yarding of veal calves sold at 4s fid to 42s Cd, according to size and quality.

There was a small mixed entry of store cattle, for which there was a poor Sale. Small yearlings made 7s, 15 to 18 months 2fls, 3-vear steers passed at £4 of, dry cows 20s to 3ft*. There was a /air demand for pood dairy cows, which sold at £7 to £!) 2s Od. Ordinary sold at C 3 to /CO.

Abralnm and Williams, Ltd.. report on their Masterton sale es follows:—We submitted a good yarding of sheep and a few rattle to a small attendance of (li« public. Prices for sheep showed all all-round increase on those ruling at the last few sales. A large yarding of good hoggets met with keen competition, as did forward conditioned empty ewes. The ewes in lamb were for the most part of inferior quality and dragged somewhat, at auction. A total clearance, with (he exception of one small lot was made.

NK'VTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. At the Ilaymarket on Saturday there was a fair entry of pigs. Slips made 5s io 8s: small stores 12s. Several horses were sold, prices ranging from :€1 10s to £ll 2s Gd. Trees and shrubs made low prices.

At tile mart some very nice poultry came forward. Turkey hens made 4s to 5s lid; chickens, fid to lid: cockerels, !s Id to Is !)d; pullets, ls-7d to 2s; hem, Is to Is fid; pure bred roosters, os to 5s 9d. A la-ge quantity, of furniture and sundries .sold at prices in favor ot buyers.

Fruit: At sales during the week prices were as- follow: Dessert apples, lis to 10s 6d; cookers, 7s to 8s; oranges, !is to 7s fid; bananas, 3s to 7s (bad order).

Cattle: At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday mixed calves made los to 23s fid; steers, do., 2fis; 15 to 18 months, do., 42s to 475; half-bred Jersey heifer calves, 20s fid: store cows, IDs to 40s; dairy cows, in calf. C'j to £3 12s Gd; springers, £4 10s to £.") 10s; f.m. ewes, 12s to 13s.

VICK-ERS AND STEVENS' REPORT. Vickers and Stevens report that there was a large entry of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday.
