DIVORCE COURT.
Per Press Association. Auckland June 14. Edward .Maurice Jiurkberdt, storcman, of Auckland, petitioned for a divorce from his wife, -Mildred Emma Louist Victoria Burkhardt, .lames Butler Hawker being named as co-respondent. Petitioner stated he married respondent nt Auckland on May 20th, 1002, am! immediately found that ithey could not live happily on account of his wife's temper. She was always mentioning "my poor little hands" and "poor little eyes," declaring she could not do the housework. A baby was born on January 2nd, lflOij, aiid Mrs Burkhardt separated from ilim six weeks later. She threatened to kill tho baby and this was the cause of t.be separation. Wit noss kept the bnby and gave his wife an allmvanoe many times since the separation. He had seen bis wife out nt night with Butler. I'lidenee as to misconduct was given- Butler used to call and sec respondent at houses at which she boarded, being introduce,l by her as her step-uncl". the best friend she had in the world. lVir.h | respondent and co-respondent denied 'he allegation, and Butler mentioned that be was an honorary member of '.lie Salvation Al'iuy Brass Band.
