A SENSATIONAL EXPLOSION.

So loud was the noise that those iu tho Conn-il (mires ran out iu haste to ascertain the cause. 7t was found that a benzine tank sent for repairs had exploded, under somewhat singular circumstances. r | he tank had been placed on tressles and rested on its side, and two taps were open as welt as a vent in one end. Mr. T. Leaning started to do some soldering to the other end (rettllv the bottom), but had scareelv applied the heat before there was a loud explosion, which resulted in his beimr knocked over and bruised, but fortunate" ly not seriously hurt. So violent was the explosion that the other end of the tank was blown out, and the compressed air in the room, escaped by bursting leg ass at the top of the partition, and also blowing nut the upper windows of he shop front.. Ift. Laing was sure there was no benzine in the tank.
