Pel Press Association. Wellington, June 12. The opening of fhe Free Art Gallery, at what has hitherto been known as tin Academy of Fine Arts, in YY'hilmori! street, took place to-day. The pictures purchased at the Exhibition form an important feature of the display that is made. It is proposed in future, by arrangement between the Academy and the City Council, to keep the gallery open free of charge on two days a week, ami on Hie first Sunday in each month. Fort\ pictures are now on the walls, and it i; hoped the form the neuclcus of a large! collection.
