METHODIST CONFERENCE

PURITANICAL RESOLUTIONS. Sydney, June 7. The Methodist Conference decided to insert in the book of laws a resolution warning members and adherents of the church to alistain entirely from dancing, theatre-going nud other questionable amusements, in view of the great moral and spiritual peril attaching thereto. The Conference adopted the recommendation of the New Zealand Conference 5n favor of authorising home missionaries or other persons of good standing and character to administer the sacraments in home mission districts.

■ MISSION TO INDIA. Received Bth, 12.45 a.m. Sydney, June 7. The Methodist Conference discussed the proposals of the London Wesleyau Methodist Society for extension of the operations of the Methodist Missionary Society of Australasia to India.

Dr Brown moved the adoption of the recommendation of the Wales' Conference that there was larger mission work still to be done in the Islands of the 'Pacific, and extra expenditure, pointing out that the current exenditure for the past three years exceeded the income bv nearly £2OOO.
