Lord Dunham, during a debate on the condition of Ireland, intimated that while the (iovernment would net on the recommendations of the Congested District* Commission in removing any causes of legitimate grievances, they deplored the agitation in Ireland. The agitation must be fruitless. The Govi'i'iiineiil had no option but to administer the law with firmness and decision.

VISIT OF THE KING AND QUEEN. London, June 6. King Edward and Queen Alexandra will visit Dublin on 10th'and 11th July. The announcement has been hailed with the greatest satisfaction in Ireland. It is hoped the Sovereigns' presence will have a quietening effect on the country.

The Government lias unfortunately taught Irish the old lesson, that you get nothing by quiet means. It is only by strenuous agitation that genuine reform may be secured.
