TARANAKI NO-LICENSE CONVENTION.

The above Convention was held in the Uawera Opera House on Monday, June 3rd, opening ni 10-30 a.m. Mr C. K Bellringer. Chairman of the Provincial Xo-License Council, Occupied the chair, and in a brief speech welcomed the delegates.

Representative* were present from New Plymouth, Wuitara, Inglcwood. Midhirsfc (Stratford, Xgaire, Lltliam, ll'awera, Opunake, Patea, Waverlcy, and as far south as Maxwelltown, over two hundred delegates in all being present.

Mr Bone, of llawem, was appointed secretary for the Convention. Mr C. IL Maunder the Provincial Secretary, read a report from the executive, which after some discussion, was adopted.

Mr J. D, Morison. Provincial Treasurer. submitted the balauec-slieet, which was received ami adopted.

Mr Bone read letters from the vari ons no-license electorates in the colony all of which were .-afisl'aetory from tin no-liceu>e standpoint

The Provincial Organiser's report for the year's work wa> enthusiastically received.

The local secretaries reported progress in their various districts. The following others for the year were elected;— President, Mr C- E.Boll* ringer; vilce-l'ie-id'ait-. Rev. C. A. 15. Watson F. Keightly, Pickett and Malliwel'l; Treasurer, Ml' J. I). Morison; Secretary. Mr C. 11. Maunder; Executive Committee, Messrs Rubins, Middleton, Dixon. (J. Watson, Wake, Clement, Robinson, Femvick, Marfell Rich, Oorjdacre, Richards, Rev- Read, Mrs Douglas, and Miss JolL

Delegates to Co'loniai Convention to be held in Wellington in July wevo appointed, the Rev, While, 'of Waverlcy, and Mr C. b). liellringer, of Xew Plymouth, being chosen to act. Various resolutions were discussed and carried including one sympathising with the Acting Premier in his illness.

The next annual convention will be held in tlawera on June 'hd, MHIS.
