ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Auckland, June 1. A Fijian employed on the steamer Ranahi had a remarkable escape from death last night, lie was knocked down by a tram in Queen street and dragged for several yards, getting pinned under the car. He was quickly extricated and conveyed to the hospital, where it was found he had sustained sundrv braises and cuts. The flesh of the right leg was torn, hut no bones were broken.
