TREATMENT OF POLITICAL PRISONERS. I R. reived 31st, 0.30 p.m. St. Petersburg, May 31. The Minister for Justice assured the Douma that neither officials nor police tortured political prisoners at Riga. He admitted the police might lightly strike prisoners with their lists, and reminded revolutionaries that they killed and wounded thousands of police in the Baltic proviuces.
