METHODIST GENERAL CONFERENCE

NEW ZEALANDERS' GRIEVANCES. Received 31st, 11.20 p.m. Sydney, May 31. Dr. Youngman was elected Secretary of the Methodist Conference. The Rev. Mr. Slade complained that no New Zealander,. except himself, had been asked to take part in any functions in connection with the Conference. It was a had blunder, and he was particularly sorry to have to make such a complaint. in view of the feeling that was glowing in New Zealand for a separate Conference.

Several members promptly expressed a wish to be relieved in favor of New Zealand visitors.

The Eev. Woolls-Rutledge informed Rev. Slade that the matter was an overBight. He added that it would be ditlicult to alter the arrangements now that the literature had been circulated. The Rev. Williams referred to the fact that the reunion to the held to-morrow night waa called a gathering "of our ownfolk," and New Zealand evidently did not belong to our own folk. Rev. Woolls-Rutledge explained that the particular gathering was not able to carry more than four speakers, and in order to give the presidents of the other States an opportunity, the president of New South Wales had also been left out. They could not do everything, even to please New Zealand.
