Swerving, it fell into the .. lake, carrying the postillion. The horse broke its leg, and was shot, but the man was unhurt.

The Chronicle and Daily Mail state that three horses fell into tlie lake, : nearly dragging with them the carriage. General Michaol, who was in the c.ir- * riage, lifted the ladies and carried the:n out of danger. , King Haakon and President Fallieres, who crossed the bridge- first, hastened back.
