THE VANCOUVER ROUTE. „ „ . Sydney, May 30. Matters m connection with the Vancouver service are still pending. There is some probability of the service on greatly improved lines, becoming the principal medium for the convenience of English mails. This view is evidently before the mind of the Federal Government, as an alternative if the Mail Syndicate's contract falls through. It i.i well known that the Postmaster-Gener.U has a leaning towards the Canadian route and favors the work being carried out if possible by an Australian company.
