During the gale on Mondnv afternoon a gust struck the First Church Hall, which is in (!;.- course of construction, and snapped the braces, hurlin" the heavy frame work of the roof into the middle of the building No one was working there at the' lime. The guff also ripped the ornamental work from the steeple of First Church. The damage is estimated at XISO.
