The Hon. W. null-Jones, Actiiig-'Frc-mier, continues to improve in health, and is now able to leave his bed. Sir. R. C. Templar, one bestknown men in the industry, has resigned his position as secretary of the Midhirst Dairy company. Mr. -1. E. Macdermott, touring manager for .Mack's New Pictures, is at present in town arranging for the company's appearance here at an early date. Mr. Macdermott reports a very successful lour of Australia since last appearing in New Plymouth.
Mr. C. Maekay, 2£ayor of AVanganui, who is mentioned as a likely candidate for the Wangauui seat at the next general election, is a son of Mr. Joseph Maekay, M.A., now of New Plymouth, and well-known in the public life of Taranaki.
At St. Luke's Church, Te Roti, on Wednesday, Mr. A. McCluggnge, of the well-known linn of MeClnggage Bros., Whangamomona and Pohokura, was married to Miss Mary Elizabeth (Minnie) Cleaver, second daughter of Mr. W. A. Cleaver, of Te Roti. The honeymoon will lie spent in Melbourne and Sydney. Mr. Ceorge Wm. Potts, tor many years a teacher in the Taranaki Education Board's service, died at Cambridge House. Nmv Plymouth, on Sunday. The deceased gentleman had been in failing health for some time, and recently retired from the teaching profession on superannuation. lie was for some years in charge of the Bell Block school.' Mr. Potts, who married Miss Rose Mace, of Omnia, leaves a tamily of five, ranging from nine to twenty-five years of age. Mr. IT.
