LONDON MAKK.KT*. Dalgefy and Co.. T.til., Wi-llijifiii.il. have received the following cables from London, dated the KH.li hist.: Wool—The sales closed linn anil active, witli brisk competition. As compared with the closing rates ot last series prices are unchanged for merinos and line erossbreds, medium and coarse crossbreds, and light-conditioned wools. L-'o greasy, shabby and dingy wools, and wools in heavy and earthy condition, prices are at par to 5 per cent lower. For merino lambs, prices are on a par with List series closing rates. Crossbred lambs, 5 per cent lower. Out of the nef quantity available for sale some 02.000 bales have been sold for Home consumption; 51,(101) bales for the Continent: 400(1 hales for America, leaving 15.000 bales to he carried forward to the next series. frozen meat.—There is better demand Tor lamb, and prices are very lirm. Poor demand for mutton and any change in prices is in favor of buyers, (loot! demand for beef; market firm. We quote: S.'A. prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy 5%d, light 5%d; North Island lamb, heavy light yd; Canterbury mutton, heavy weights H'/.d. light -Id; Xorth Island'heavy 3«/|d, "light 3%dd: X.Z. prime ox beef, fores 'i\',t\, hinds :!%d. liutter.—Best quality, market lirm without change in prices. Other qualities are neglected. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom bathe week ending the 11th instant amounted to 87,000 cwt, as compared with 01.000 cwt for the corresponding period of 1000.
Tallow.—Market steady at last quotations. There will he no public sales of tallow next week.
