DAIRY PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs E. Griffiths and Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs. Mills and Sparrow, dated sth April, 1007: Butter.—At the opening of the market after the holidays trade was quiet, hut to-day there is a much better demand, and finest butters are selling well. Wealher is very bright and dry, with rather cool winds prevailing, and the nights are cold, in some districts there having been slight frosts.

Danish: Reduced 4 kroners, and there should now be a better demand. French: Until they have some warm, genial rains there cannot be any serious increase in production. Siberian: The new freshly-made winter butters to which we referred last week are now arriving in increased quantities, and the quality is above the average. At the quotations these butters are very cheap. Australian: In face of the drop of 1 kroners in Danish many buyers expected to get on at lower figures, but the price of fancy quality, both salted and unsalted, holds its own; on the other hand, secondary is not so firm, and a slight reduction has to be made to effect .sales. This grade comes more into competition with Siberian than choicest. The Suevic butters are still unsold, and the surveyors acting on behalf of the underwriters have, so far as we can gather, only in one instance agreed on the amount of depreciation. There is also trouble with the Britannia shipment. The bulk of her butter cargo has been very seriously tainted with the aroma from the apples which she brought Home, and the loss in some cases must be pretty severe. New Zealand: The s.s. Kimutaka is now discharging, and so far as we have seen the quality does not appear to be up to the usual high standard. The price of all best butter is steady, but anything which shows faulty llavor is being passed over by buyers at the moment, and we fear, as with Australian, slightly reduced prices will have to k ;-.-unfed io clear.

Cheese: Demand poor, i in- very high priees have rather curl ailed the consumption, although quotations for Canadian new make are being sent about broadeast. The quantity of April make cannot be large, and quality "'ill not com nare with old Canadian or the Xew Zcalands' now on the market. Quotations: Butter: Danish, 104s to lulls; French.'
