SIR JOSEPH WARD
A PRESENTATION. Received 17th, 0.42 p.m. London, May 17. The Hon. W. D. Reeves, on behalf of a number of Sir Joseph Ward's private friends, presented him with a handsome dressing-case, in recognition of kindnesses received during ]ub visit. IN IRELAND. Received 17th, 11.51 p.m. London, May 17. Several of the Premiers were welcomed at Rochester, where they inspected industries. Sir Joseph Ward has received a doctorship of Laws of Dublin University, Dr. Fitehett and Mr. James Mills accompanyhim. After the ceremony the Viceroy congratulated the recipient, and emphasised their indebtedness to the Trinity for its part in what he hoped was the evergrowing process of unity among the brethren constituting the nations of the Empire.
