Mossman and Co. were uninsurd. Williams and Kettle's "building was insured for £2OOO, and the stock for £4200. Madison and Co.'s stock was insured for .CM). The total insurances are £l-1,425. The loss j B estimated at over €20,000. ' ; The tire was the most disa-trous since 189; i, when the same Iblock and tire block opposite were destroyed. • Tiie Bank of New South ffabs and flower's Cafe had a narrow escape. The Bank of New Zealand premises were insured for £BBS iu the New Zealand Insurance ollice. All the buildings destroyed were built of wood, and will be rc-lmil'tj in brick. '
