The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's autumn meeting was commenced to-day. The weather was beautifully fine, and the attendance large. The course was rather soft. The fields ,were large and the racing good. The sum of £10,443 was invested on the totes, including £IO3O on the double machine. The winning double, Contender and Volume, paid £SO Bs.
