ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Nelson, May 8.
A, Carter. Collector of Customs, died suddenly in his office this afternoon, lie was seized with a stroke of cerebral hemorrhage, and lived only half an hour a f tcrwimls.
About seven o'clock this evening Mrs. Collier, whose husband is a tailor, who came from London a few years ago, died suddenly. In the afternoon she had taken a drive, and appeared in her usual health, aud in the evening Mr. Collier had gone out, leaving her with their family, when she suddenly expired. She had sulfered from heart trouble, which was the cause of death. Dunedin, May 8. Mrs. Elizabeth Mason, a married woman residing at (ireymouth, expired suddenly whilst on a visit to her sister-in-law, Mrs. .Robertson at Maori Hill. An inquest is to be held to-morrow, (iisborne, May 8.
The death occurred to-night of Mr. ■I. A. Harding, aged 54. a member of the Harbor Board, liorough Council, and Hospital Trustees. The cause of death was apoplexy. [The Hon.' Mr. Carroll, who last nigkl received word of Mr. Harding's death, stated that he had lost one of his oldest friends, (he district one of its ablest men, and the poor aud infirm their greatest friend.]
