KING EDWARD

- A NARROW ESCAPE. Paris, May 5. It has transpired that when King Edward's train stopped at Slon it was discovered that a grease-box of one of the eoaches had become detached from tie axle and fallen off when miming at a speed of 100 kilometers an hour. Had the train re-started a terrible accident must have occurred. The axie was White hot from friction. The Daily Chronicle states that when the grease-box was found it was discovered that the bolt pins had been extricated. It looks like as if an attempt had been made to derail the train.

King Edward has arrived in London after a rough passage. During his tour he travelled 4930 miles.
